Wow! This beautifully restored Moorish house, situated in the tranquil village of Atalbéitar in the Alpujarra mountains, is a real gem.
The house has been recently restored using traditional materials in original ways, with simplicity and comfort in mind. Chestnut beams, bedrock corners and many unique touches give it a rustic beauty, and provide an enchanting base from which to explore the magical surroundings of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
The house has three lovely bedrooms: Bedroom 1 is a cosy, oriental-style room with double bed, and polished wooden floors. Bedroom 2 is an unusual room with features carved into rock, it has a double bed & private balcony with lovely views. Bedroom 3 (available on request at an extra charge) has twin beds, washbasin and private terrace.
There is a shower room with toilet and wash hand basin, a beautiful family bathroom with large antique stand-alone bath, bidet and toilet and plenty of hot water 24 hrs a day, supplied by an electric boiler.
The house has a pretty, fully fitted kitchen in rustic art-deco style! It's warm colours and earthenware tiles should inspire good cooking! The kitchen opens out onto the lovely terrace to one side and the dining room to the other.
The house also has a gorgeous, large, Moroccan-style living / dining room, cosy seating area, spacious dining area, and a hand-made Moroccan fireplace.
French doors open onto the beautiful terrace with views across to the valley and mountains.
